In accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated at 23 October 2013, the Ministry of Commerce, Crafts and SME's Promotion organizes from 7 to 13 April 2014 in Abidjan, the 1st edition of Ivorian Craft Market (MIVA). This edition has the theme: "Promoting innovation and excellence of African Crafts products".
This edition was launched in December 18, 2013. The MIVA aims to promote craft products by creating a meeting between artists and trade buyers in all regions of the world interested in this activity.
The implementation of MIVA has two phases, a promotional and organizational phase, not only nationally, but also regionally and internationally.
After the official launching, missions will be organized in West Africa and Central Africa countries for promoting the MIVA and to invite them to take part in this event. The exhibition of best craftsmen awarded will take place at the Palais des Sports of Treichville between 7 to 13 April 2014.
We expect to see at this first edition of MIVA, artisans or countries who won prizes during exhibitions in Africa, professional buyers, financial and non-financial partners, experts and consultants in crafts fields, national and international TV operators and radios and more than two thousand (2000) visitors.
After this exhibition, a touring holiday will be organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism to enable trade buyers to discover south areas of the country and conclude partnership agreements with craftmen.
All countries are invited to select their craftsmen on the basis of information in this note for their effective participation in the MIVA.
